Well, last week was quite interesting, to say the least. First week of school, continuing squirelling away the harvest, the rain. Yes, it rained quite a bit here. It was starting to feel like we were just breathing in smoke from California fires, smog, dust, and whatever else could be polluting the air during summer. For a few days we had normal Oregon weather, and once the clouds parted and the sun started shining, you could see the mountains again. You start to miss not seeing Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood... they become giant monoliths and scenery that you take for granted, but once you can't see them for a while, you really begin to appreciate their dominating presence in the scenery.
This all made me think about how God cleanses us from our sins and impurities. He and only He can do it. Nothing we do can clean us from our sinful nature.
